Teaching
I have taught at all levels including the Ph.D. program, Executive education program, MBA program and undergraduate program. Generally, my teaching has been focused on data-driven marketing decision-making, retailing, marketplace disruption, and innovation. Indeed, I developed the first marketing analytics class at Mason at both the undergraduate and graduate level, and has emerged to be popular class. I have also developed the Emerging technologies and retailing class; a first of a kind class, that introduces students to the cutting-edge technology in retail. While data, innovation, and technology are focus on my course, in each course is undercurrent of social responsibility, sustainability and what I call conscious marketing.
I adopt a hands-on, practical approach to teaching focused on critical thinking and application. In most of my classes, I bring companies to the classroom either as semester projects or as guest speakers, enriching the classroom experience with a diversity of perspectives. I am employee different tools in my classroom and for my teaching efforts, I was awarded the Outstanding Teaching in Major Award in 2017.
I enjoy interacting with my students and have mentored many through the careers. Importantly (for me), it has been wonderful to stay in touch with many of my former students!
